Got a resolution? Get some motivation!

Hello Beagles,

Have you been binge watching? We admit to watching a larger than normal amount of television, which could become our own resolution. Before we get into that, let's discuss a fun find about personal motivation and responsibility on Amazon Prime. Brittany Runs a Marathon is not only motivational. It is hilarious and feels very real.

Brittany gets the not so subtle news from her doctor that she needs lifestyle changes to be a healthy human, and she finds slow methodic motivation in running. A jog around her block in worn out Converse leads to the formation of true friendships, a better outlook on life, and then training for the NYC marathon. This movie goes the full 26.2 miles, so check it out on Prime.

The year 2020 was a year to remember or one to spur a steadfast sprint towards the next. Either way, you are sitting on something that could be a motivational tool. No, not in the literal sense. Maybe, if you want to build chairs or buns of steel in 2021. Instead, take a look at your photos.

Here is where to start. Work backwards from your resolution. What is it? What do you want to do in 2021? Do you want to run a marathon, spend more time traveling or out on an adventure with your family? We know there are logistics to figure out, but without motivation, the logistics won't get solved either.

Go back to your photos. It has to be your photos. Look for ones with you, family, friends or co-workers where there is a sense of happiness, purpose, belonging or motivation. It may be doing something directly related to that "marathon."

Then again sometimes any inspirational moment is a catalyst, so don't feel you need to have a bunch of pictures of you running if that's your goal.  Most people we've met don't start running for the shear joy of it, that usually comes later.  They start running to be healthier for themselves, pets or family.  Or they run to challenge themselves, to prove they can.  Maybe they come to enjoy running for running's sake at a later point.

Think of what gets you out of bed in the morning. Look for those photos. This exercise, slight pun intended, works best for those with a resolution of tackling the thousands of photos you have, but never really got around to it. There's no time like the present.

Give yourself the present of reliving these happy, purposeful, belonging and motivational moments. You were once there. Let 2021 be the year of overcoming and the year you become most motivated.

Just like Brittany's friends. We are here to help create that positive atmosphere.  You don't need to do it alone.

Run on Beagles,

Sean, Catherine, Bean and the Munchkin Intern
